Help Afnan and her family evacuate Gaza

Dear friends . I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for urgent assistance. My name is Afnan and I am a mother of two beautiful children: Waseem, 5 years old, and Mahmoud, 3 years old. I am in my sixth month of pregnancy... Waseem suffers from an electrical surge and cannot walk or speak, and this is my eldest child... and I live in the Gaza Strip with my husband, Ali... I have been devastated by the scourges of war. Our once peaceful life has left us with neither despair nor uncertainty.

The relentless conflict in Gaza has stripped us of our homeland, our security, and our hope for a better future. We now find ourselves living in miserable conditions, surrounded by constant threats to our health and safety. Our temporary shelter offers little protection against the harsh reality of war, leaving my children vulnerable to illness and suffering.

All I want is to give my children a chance at a life free of fear and suffering. I dream of seeing them grow up in health, happiness and safety, far from the violence and unrest that our country suffers from. But to make this dream a reality I need your help.

Why we need your support:

The situation in Gaza is dire, with limited options for escape and Egyptian officials demanding exorbitant bribes in exchange for exiting the area, making it almost impossible for families like mine to seek refuge elsewhere. In our case, officials are asking for a bribe of $5,000 per person, for a total of $20,000 for our family of four. In addition, transportation costs, including travel, temporary housing, and resettlement expenses, further exacerbate the financial burden. We estimate that we will need a total of $30,000 to safely evacuate our family from Gaza and start over in a safer environment.
