Help our family raise money for Afghani Refugees! We have sponsored one man, S, who is living with us on our farm in Raleigh, NC.

We are hoping to help him and his 2 Afghani refugee friends. Two were soldiers for over a decade with the US military fighting against the Taliban, and the third man worked in the media as an activist for freedom of speech. All three were forced to evacuate in August, leaving behind their homes, relatives, and all of their belongings. They are excited to build new lives here in the US and have quickly become part of our family. They are kind, hardworking, funny and proud.

It has been very difficult for them knowing that their families are still in Afghanistan, with mass famine and instability devastating the country. S’s wife and 3 young children have been without income as they are moving from location to location hiding from the Taliban, who would kill them if they found out S made it to America. They have already visited his house and severely beat his cousin, trying to ascertain S’s whereabouts. All three have family depending on them to send money home so they will not starve, they have about one months resources left.

We are hoping for 3,000 each so that they can send some home and also keep some to start a new life here. They are on food stamps but receiving very little cash assistance, and it will take some time for them to find jobs as 2 of them have low English speaking levels and are illiterate. We have withheld heir photos and names per their request out of respect for their families safety. The photo used is of the Community House on our farm where S is currently living.
