Help Afghan Refugee family in Bethesda

Hi my name is Kevin Sullivan. I have been asked to be a "Sherpa" by a local Bethesda based Refugee Support group that is providing assistance to over 40 Afghan refugee families in Bethesda.  The group has been organized by Anna Behnam and I encourage you to join it at
 https://nextdoor.com/g/83lb2a4du/  Over 200  Bethesda residents are now part of this effort. We have an immediate need.  A family ( a single mother and 2 daughters) was suddenly evicted from where they were staying.  The two girls ages 16 and 18  are attending a local Bethesda high school.  In response school counselors at the high school quickly raised enough money to cover a week in a hotel were the family is now living with other Afghan refugee families. We are working with a local religious group , county officials  and the IRC to try to find long term housing options. For the moment we have two immediate asks  (1) do  you have space available in your home for free or at a reduced rent and  (2) help us raise funds to pay for additional hotel costs and gas money for the girls and other necessities.  This family has fallen through the cracks and we are having to push the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to once again take  responsibility for this family and even then it is clear that the IRC has limited resources that are time limited. The mother is willing to work but does not speak English. The two girls are willing to work as well.  I will meet the family this weekend to aid and assist them to cover their immediate needs.
