Hello friends and family,
The treatment plan for my recent breast diagnosis is chemotherapy first. Unfortunately, as many of you know, chemotherapy will temporarily cause the cells that grow hair to die off, so I will lose my hair in the next two weeks. So instead, I would rather promptly donate my healthy hair to a clause close to my heart, and while doing so, raise funds for two brilliant B.C. charity organizations: Wigs for Kids and Y.A.N.A.
The Wigs for Kids BC (W4K) program raises money year-round to provide free custom-fitted human-hair wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer or other serious illnesses. The program also helps cover the costs of essential drugs and feeding supplies for children that MSP does not cover.
YANA is a community organization offering help to Comox Valley families who need to travel for medical treatment for a child or a pregnant mother. Our purpose is to improve access to healthcare by providing travel funding and accommodation.
Will you help me in my quest to raise money for young children and their families who have to undergo medical treatment for a critical illness? For example, if 100 of my friends/family donated $10, I would reach my goal of $1000, which I will split equally to both organizations.
Thank you.
