Hi my name is Elizabeth Geddes-Weisgerber and my dear friend and fellow RN Adriana DeOliveira has experienced a devastating fire just weeks after welcoming her newborn baby into the world.

4 weeks after bringing her newborn baby home, Adriana’s life was turned upside down. A sudden fire tore through her condo building, forcing Adriana, her daughter Mailyn, and 4-week-old baby Sean to flee and escape with almost no time to grab essentials. Thankfully, they are safe — but the loss and damage to their home has displaced them.

Adriana is a skilled, dedicated nurse who instinctively goes the extra mile—staying late, putting in countless hours, and always being the first to give and care for others. A hero in her own right, she now finds herself in the unimaginable position of needing help instead of providing it.

With her home destroyed, Adriana is facing overwhelming costs: emergency housing, clothing, furniture, cost of rebuilding and losses insurance won’t cover. And plans for her daughter to start college next year. She is doing her best to stay strong for her children and cope with the overwhelming challenge of rebuilding.
