Hello, my name is Mia. A few years ago, I was in need of a great deal of help due to unforeseen circumstances. With the help of my sister, her community, our friends, and family near and far, I was extremely blessed through a GoFundMe account that my sister Nadine created. I am in need of everyone's help again, except this time it isn't for me; it's for my beautiful twin nieces, Adriana and Gabriella.
You see, they began what was to be a new and exciting chapter in their lives. They moved away from home and into their very first apartment, started a new job, and began attending the well-known college USF. The girls and their tiny dog Teddy only got to enjoy the taste of their new life for 2 short months before we were hit with a catastrophic storm, Hurricane Milton! Adriana and Gabriella were forced to evacuate, and in doing so, we are forever blessed and grateful that they were unharmed and still here with us today. Unfortunately, after being allowed to return to their apartment to assess the damage, they were faced with the reality that they lost everything due to knee-deep flooding. They lost their brand new TV, beds, clothes, shoes, and furniture, just to name a few. They lost much more, and to top it off, the apartment was deemed unlivable.
With their hometown being Coral Springs, it is too far of a commute to work and school. They are now on a very short time crunch to find a new place to live and repurchase everything they lost in the flood. Claims have been filed, but it could take months before they hear or get anything back. I am hoping and praying that maybe by getting their story out to the community, we could all come together and help them the way everyone helped me. These girls worked so hard, they are so loving and caring, and would do anything to help someone in need. They are so deserving! I am asking for any help whatsoever to help offset the financial cost of the damage, and if you can't help financially, I am also asking for prayers.
I understand that it was material items that were lost, but it was still a traumatizing experience for them both. They are heartbroken. They are still so young and are just learning how to navigate through life's hurdles and bumps in the road. I'm praying that we can all pitch in and just help make this process a tiny bit easier for them. It's been said time and time again... "It takes a village." Thank you all for your prayers, love, and support.
