Help Adam and Melissa keep their farm

On October 26th, young farmers Adam Cable and Melissa Jewel lost their new horse barn to a wind storm. Adam and Melissa had invested their life savings and a significant loan in the building, which they planned to use as a horse arena to sustain their income through the winter months.

Adam and Melissa, young parents of four-year-old William, had recently purchased their dream farm, Hilton Valley Farms, in Hilton, Ontario. Adam, a contractor by trade, and Melissa, a horse trainer, had their dreams and future wrapped up in the farm: to board horses, train horses, and teach kids how to safely ride horses. To expand their dream through the winter months, Adam, and his team were building the arena, investing over $200k in its construction. They worked sun up to sun down through the summer and fall. The building was 75% complete when the wind storm completely destroyed it, bringing the trusses to the ground.
Now, Adam and Melissa are facing the devastating reality of losing everything they’ve built, while having to figure out how to repay their loan for their lost building. Their insurance company will cover only $50,000 of the damage due to a cap on their policy. They desperately want to recover from this without having to sell the farm.
In order to rebuild their lost barn, Adam and Melissa will need $80,000. Any funds raised will go towards buying product and securing support from additional labourers to build it quickly before the winter. Please consider donating any amount to help this young family avoid losing everything.
