Imagine a love that spans continents, uniting two hearts despite them being halfway across the world from each other. Adam and Allen met, fell in love, sealed their bond in marriage, and later welcomed their son, Aiden. For three years, despite limited resources, Adam has faithfully sustained two homes, one for his beloved wife and son in Uganda and another for himself in Middletown, Pennsylvania.

Dear friends, family, and generous supporters,

I’m Chuck Gafvert, launching this campaign to help my nephew Adam Metz reunite with his wife Allen and their 2-year-old son Aiden who are in Uganda. Through an IR-1 spousal visa, Allen and Aiden have the chance to join Adam in Middletown Pennsylvania for a new life together, but they need our help to overcome significant financial barriers and provide Aiden with the safe, loving home he deserves. As a light-skinned child in Uganda, Aiden faces challenges that weigh heavily on Allen’s heart as a mother. He has already been in a frightening situation that put his safety at risk, making Allen even more determined to bring him to the US, where he can grow up secure and embraced by their new community alongside his father.

Their journey from Uganda to Pennsylvania is costly, and they must leave most of their belongings behind. We’re raising funds to cover:

Travel: Flights from Uganda to Pennsylvania ($1,500–$2,000 for Allen and Aiden) and travel to Nairobi for visa interviews ($500–$600).

Visa Costs: Medical exams ($400–$600), multiple application and passport fees ($1,240).

Household Setup: we'll need clothes for both of them ($500), and essentials for a small child including a high chair ($50), car seat ($100), stroller ($100), and bedding/toys ($200).

Our goal is $5,000 to cover these expenses and help Adam, Allen, and Aiden settle into a stable home. Every dollar brings this family closer to reuniting and ensures a brighter, safer future for Aiden. Your support will provide plane tickets, a safe living space, and the tools for a young child to thrive.
