Help Abinadi Heal and Keep His Dream Alive

Donation protected
This summer, my cousin Abinadi came to visit his sister and our extended family in Utah. He’s currently going to school in Mexico, studying to become an engineer. His dream is to one day design and build things that make life easier for people in need. I didn’t know this until recently, while we were chatting during our family camping trip, he noticed my son, who has some paralysis, using his electric hiking wheelchair. He looked at me and said, “That’s what I want to do when I finish school, build things to help people like Liam.”
That’s just who Abinadi is; selfless, thoughtful, and driven by kindness. He’s one of the most genuine people I’ve ever known. He jumps in to help others without being asked, and he does it with a heart full of love. And his smile, you just can't help but smile back at the guy!

Last weekend, our extended family gathered at Yuba Lake. It had been ages since all of us had gathered together. We spent time swimming, laughing, eating yummy food, and taking turns on a four-wheeler. It was one of those unforgettable weekends, until it took a heartbreaking turn. Abinadi and my uncle were riding the four-wheeler when it flipped. Both were rushed to the hospital; one by ambulance, the other by helicopter. My uncle required surgery, but miraculously, he's expected to fully recover.

Abinadi’s condition, however, is more uncertain. He suffered a collapsed lung and a fractured spine. Doctors are monitoring him closely, running tests, and determining whether he’ll need surgery, physical therapy, or both. Right now, all we can do is wait, hope, and pray for the best outcome, that he’ll walk again and continue chasing the beautiful dreams he holds. He is still so young and has barely begun to live the life he’s dreamed of.
Unfortunately, Abinadi doesn’t have U.S. health insurance, and his family is not in a financial position to cover the extensive medical costs. That’s why I’ve created this GoFundMe page on his behalf.

He is young. He has his whole life ahead of him. He has a long road to recovery, but also the heart and determination to get there.

If you feel moved to help, please consider donating, every dollar makes a difference. He has already undergone many tests, more to come, and possible surgeries. All of which are extremely expensive. Together we can help him pave the road to healing, and one day, to building things that will change lives for the better.

Some people come into your life and, even in a brief moment, their goodness leaves a lasting impression. That’s Abinadi.

Thank you for your love, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
