My name is Abdullah Omar Al-Shanti, a 26-year-old mechatronics graduate from Gaza. Today, I’m not speaking to you as an engineer but as a father, a son, and a husband fighting for my family’s survival in the shadows of war.

Five Displacements, One Family in Crisis

Since the war began, we’ve fled five times. From Gaza City to Khan Younis, Rafah, Deir al-Balah, and back north, chased by bombs, fear, and fire. Each move costs more than just our belongings, it chips away at our dignity, our health, our hope.

My Family’s Health Is on the Line

* My 4-year-old son Younis urgently needs eye surgery to prevent long-term vision loss.

* My mother needs a hip replacement, without it, she’ll be bedridden.

* My father battles chronic heart disease without regular care.

* Daily survival to get food, water, medicine and shelter. It all has become a constant struggle.
