Fundraising goal
$50,000
This is an opportunity to support an organization that is doing a lot of good.
The Abba Padre Monastery is a Catholic religious order of about 30 Sisters located in Los Cocos, Cordoba Province, Argentina. These nuns are dedicating their lives to making a positive impact in the surrounding communities and in the world. They are a young and growing congregation that need support to continue moving forward and flourish.
Over the last two years, Abba Padre’s electric bills have increased substantially and this is threatening the future of the Monastery. In 2023, their annual electric bill was $1,600, in 2024 it was $5,400 and in 2025 it is estimated to be over $9,000. The donations they receive are not enough to cover these high electric bills. Their future relies upon an alternative method for meeting their electricity needs, and the answer is to Go Solar!
Your support for the Abba Padre Solar Project is expected to reduce the Monastery's annual electric bills by $7,000 or more per year. See the chart below.
The Solar Project: A 30kW solar panel project (about 60 panels) will be installed within the Monastery grounds. Included in the fundraising goal is replacement of antiquated (circa 1938) electric circuits in several Monastery buildings. All equipment, parts, and labor will be procured in Argentina.

The completed project will look like this example
