Help Aaron and Family in Their Cancer Battle

Asking for prayers and support for Our Dear Friend, Aaron.

Friends, I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share some incredibly difficult news about one of my best friends, Aaron.

What began as what he thought were allergies or a lingering cold turned out to be something far more serious. After further testing, doctors found a large tumor around his trachea. Due to its size and how close it is to major arteries, surgery to remove it is too risky. A stent was placed to help him breathe, and a biopsy was taken.

Unfortunately, the news got even harder. The biopsy and other scan results came back as small cell lung cancer. It has also spread to his liver, skull, and his spine. Aaron will be starting chemo today but he has a very long road ahead of him.

As many of you know, Aaron, Karlie, and their three kids had just moved back to Texas. Aaron was so excited about his new job promotion and the opportunity to be closer to friends. This cancer diagnosis was not part of the plan—and it has completely changed the course of their lives.

Since there are no cancer treatment facilities in or near Wichita Falls, they have made the decision to travel back and forth to OKC so Aaron can receive care at one of the top cancer centers and Karlie can have the support and help of her family that live in Oklahoma. The road ahead is going to be long and incredibly challenging.

We are asking for your prayers—your support means everything. And if you’re able, any financial assistance would also make a tremendous difference. With both Aaron and Karlie needing to focus fully on his treatment and care, work will most likely not be an option right now, and the last thing they should have to worry about is finances.
