Hi, I'm Oscar, and I've founded Crisis Coaching Collective (CCC) because I believe that when someone has been through a crisis, having the right person to support them as they move forward can make a huge difference.

CCC is something I've been working towards because of my own experiences and what I learned through post crisis coaching.

Now I need some help to turn the idea into a properly functioning organisation and that's why I've started this fundraiser.

Why I started CCC

At the age of 5, I received my first kids’ carpentry tool set and started to make simple picture frames. At 15, I started working in carpentry. Working with my hands has been my trade, my skill and a big part of who I am.

Then, one Sunday evening, everything changed.

I was at home, working on a DIY project in my bedroom, when I had a serious accident involving a circular saw. I nearly severed all the fingers on my right hand.

What followed was traumatic. I needed multiple operations to repair the damage, and for a long time I had no idea what the future would look like. My career depended on my hands and the possibility of losing the use of them was frightening.

During my recovery, I was fortunate enough to experience coaching myself. At a time when so much of my life had suddenly become uncertain, having someone who could listen without judgement, help me make sense of what I was going through and support me to think about what came next made a real difference.

I began to understand that coaching wasn't about someone telling you what to do or giving you all the answers. It was about having the right person alongside you, someone who could help you find your own way forward when things felt difficult or overwhelming.

That experience stayed with me.

While I was recovering, I decided to study for professional coaching qualifications. What began as something to focus on during a difficult period quickly became a passion. I threw myself into the training and undertook extensive coaching practice alongside my studies.

I am now an EMCC-accredited practitioner coach.

Looking back, the accident changed the direction of my life in ways I could never have anticipated. It took away the certainty I had about my future, but it also introduced me to something I had never considered before about the power of coaching to help someone find a way forward when life doesn't go according to plan.

That is why I founded Crisis Coaching Collective.

I want other people facing their own moments of crisis, uncertainty or major change to have access to the kind of support that helped me.

What I'm trying to build

CCC is a not-for-profit, Community Interest Company that I'm building to bring together professional coaches who can donate some of their professional capacity to support people who have experienced crisis or significant difficulty.

The idea is simple - sometimes people don't need someone to fix their problems. They need someone who will genuinely listen, understand, stay alongside them and help them work out what comes next.
I want to create a collective of professional coaches who can provide that kind of support, free of charge to post-crisis clients, safely, responsibly and with the support of training, resources and a community behind them.

I've already taken the first big step by turning the idea into a real organisation.

Now I need to build the foundations.

Why I'm fundraising

CCC doesn't have funding behind it yet.

I've been building it from the ground up, but there are costs involved in getting an organisation properly established.

Before I can focus fully on delivering what CCC was created to do, I need to put the foundations in place to make that possible.

That includes things like the website and digital systems, insurance, software, professional services, community registration processes, training and resources, communications and the other practical costs involved in establishing a new organisation.

These things aren't the exciting part of the vision, but they are what will allow the vision to become reality.

What your donation will help me do

Your donation could help me:
• Build the website and digital framework
• Put the necessary systems, security and software in place
• Cover insurance and essential organisational costs
• Build and verify a network of independent professional coaches
• Develop resources, training and support materials
• Get CCC ready to operate properly and safely
• Start reaching the people I originally set out to help

Every donation, however small, will help me take another step towards getting CCC off the ground.

Why your support would mean so much

I'm asking you to help me build something from the beginning.

I know I'm young to be starting this venture, but I have taken this seriously. I've spent a lot of time learning, training, planning and working out how to turn an idea into something real and I have the support, mentoring and backing of an experienced coach, mentor, teacher/trainer, charity trustee and business professional – Dr Landa Magdalene Love.

CCC came from something personal to me, but my hope is that it can become something much bigger than my own story.

I want it to become a collective of professional coaches who can be there for others when they have been through one of the hardest periods of their lives.

That's why I'm asking for your help.

If you can donate, thank you.

If you can't, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much.

And if you believe in what I'm trying to build, I'd be incredibly grateful if you would help me give Crisis Coaching Collective its start.

Thank you for believing in me and in what CCC could become!
