Help a Young Father Reenter & Support His Family

Donation protected
My brother, Jordan, is finally free after years of persecution by the racist legal punishment system. But the time the state has taken from him has come at personal loss and financial hardship for him and his family. Now that he is finally free, he needs our support to get on his feet.

Jordan is a motivated, thoughtful, introspective, and generous young man and a father to four beautiful children between the ages of 9 and 1. He is a hands-on dad and a provider for his family. Jordan has already begun the hard work of identifying his goals and strengths and building a new life. As soon as he returned home this summer he secured a job and is meeting all of his court obligations in addition to being a primary caretaker and doting father to his children.

Jordan now needs a safe car to go to work, care for his kids, and take his place as a productive and contributing citizen.  When many of us were able to advance our lives through school and work, Jordan (like so many others) was being targeted and harassed by the state. This is why he became a committed member of the FJAH Participatory Defense group and the Brother’s Healing Circle where he is sharing his knowhow and experiences to support others in advocating for their rights. He is committed to creating change as he works to examine his own choices and keep his focus on building the future he wants.

Please join me in showing our love for this young man by providing mutual aid that will support him to be successful and continue on the right track. As a formerly incarcerated person myself, I know what it’s like to leave prison and have to rebuild your life without any support from the system except more rules to follow. For me, and for so many people who leave prison, economic security is crucial to finding stability and being able to focus on healing, changing, and personal development. That’s why I’m asking you to give what you can and also share this post with everyone you know to help him find the financial security and mobility that will be key to turning his job into a career and helping him to support and strengthen his family.

Please dig deep and donate what you can so that Jordan can get to where he needs to go!

In Jordan's own words:

"We can conquer anything, if we paid attention; but we focused on the wrong things, so we stuck in the trenches . . . And if you ever had a dream, better go out and chase it; cuz the fact that we made it this far is more than amazing!"
