Hi my name is Mick. I am just an ordinary Joe soap. And a father. Who came across a young family who were sleeping in there car for the last month. This beautiful family were let down by everybody. By there ex landlord, by the government, by the councils. The two little babas were sleeping in the back. While the mother and the father slept sitting up in the front seats. This father would then go and work sometimes a ten hour shift after this. While his wife and the kids stayed in the car.

I can’t comprehend how someone could survive like this. It’s just heartbreaking.

I decided that if the government were not going to help them. Then by god I would. So I took them in with me and trusted my gut that all this family needed was some support and compassion. Myself and my partner moved my young girls bed into my son’s room and made them a little safe space for the time being.

I made a video and appealed to people’s good nature to help me and give me guidance to protect these young children. It was overwhelming the response I received everyone has been nothing good

The hope with this fundraiser is to get this young family somewhere safe and warm to sleep and to let them know people do care. And good things can happen even in the worst of situations.
