Even in 2025, some children still slip through the cracks.

We are fundraising for an Aboriginal child in Year 3, living in regional South Australia, who urgently needs a formal psychological assessment for autism. (Family wish to remain anonymous)

Despite clear developmental concerns and involvement from multiple professionals, the child's original NDIS access request was declined due to a lack of formal evidence—a heartbreaking outcome that has blocked access to essential therapies.

Living in a rural area has made things even more difficult. There is limited access to specialists, long travel times, and a lack of locally available services—all of which put further strain on the family.

We are seeking to raise $2,000 to cover the cost of a comprehensive autism assessment, which is critical to:

• Accessing NDIS funding

• Beginning speech and occupational therapy

• Arranging hearing assessments and support

• Rebuilding the child’s early intervention plan
