Help a Wonderful Family...Lend a Hand if you can

I'm looking to help a wonderful family out. Mariann & Fred 'Cutter' Ballbach purchased a much-needed used vehicle on a very limited budget and a small loan. 3 days after having the vehicle home from a private seller, the car started blowing white smoke. She took it to her mechanic who delivered the bad news of blown head gaskets to the tune of 1700-2000 IF there was nothing else wrong. Unfortunately, the funds aren't there to fix the car and the mechanic said the vehicle is more than likely not worth fixing.

Graciously, friends have borrowed the use of their vehicles to help them out, but that is not the long-term solution. Ideally, my goal is to raise enough money to pay off the loan to release the lean from the broke down vehicle, allowing them to scrap the POS at the junkyard and put them back in the position to purchase a better vehicle. Cutter's health problems has lead him unable to work and find them having to travel to Madison every three months for appointments. So having a reliable vehicle is of the utmost importance.
