This year has been the hardest of my life. As a veteran, I’ve always tried to handle things on my own, but after losing my mom in February and helping with her funeral costs, my savings took a big hit. In July, I had my second shoulder and bicep surgery—my eleventh surgery in just four years—which added more financial strain. Shortly after, my long-term relationship ended, and I had to scramble to find a new place to live. Just a month ago, I was told the place I was renting had been sold, and I had to move out.
Now, I find myself homeless, searching for a room to rent in Utah, Arizona, California, or even back east, but the prices are overwhelming. I also have my ESA dog with me, and it’s been nearly impossible to find a place that will accept us both. As I write this on Thanksgiving, I’m filled with gratitude for anyone willing to listen and help. I never thought I’d be in this position, but I know I’m not alone—so many people are just one paycheck away from the same situation.
I’m reaching out for help so I can afford temporary housing and keep my dog by my side while I work to get back on my feet. Anything you can give will make a difference. Thank you for your kindness, and I hope you enjoy your family and loved ones this holiday season. Your support means more than words can say. Thank you again all funds will be used to secure a place for us to stay.
