My name is Karen Fitch and I am starting this page for my brother who is on life support in a trauma center in Daytona Beach and has been for over a week from a hunting accident.

He had his tree stand 30 feet in the air and the cable broke. He fell 30 feet and laid in the woods for almost 2 hours before another hunter found him in the dark, a mile and a half in the woods, and called the sheriff and the ambulance. It took another two hours to extricate him from the woods because he was too deep in the woods, he did not know who he was, where he was, or that he had fallen. He was transported to a hospital in Daytona Beach, which was the closest hospital to his location, and received two x-rays: one for his lumbar spine, which was fractured, and one for his spleen, which had a large hematoma.

The hospital released him and sent him home to his hunting camp in a taxi cab. When he got back, he was unable to walk or do anything for himself and was peeing in a gallon jug. Within 12 to 24 hours, he then called the ambulance to come and get him to take him back to the hospital. They transported him to the wrong hospital at first and then had to send him to the correct hospital, which is Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach.

There, he has been suffering from bleeding internally in his spleen, which they had to perform emergency surgery on. He has brain bleeding, developed an embolism in his lungs, and is suffering from double pneumonia. He is a naval veteran and currently on disability, and we are looking for any help we can get with the bills that are coming towards him and praying for his survival. Anything anybody can give or do is sincerely appreciated by myself and family.
