Help a Ukiah Teen Overcome Scam Debt

I'm raising funds to help a high school student I've known for three years to pay off their debt which they incurred when they became the victim of a recent (early April 2025) email phishing scam.

The scammer's message was sent to the student's school email account; the message described an employment opportunity.

This young person has been working 20 - 30 hours a week at a chain restaurant in Ukiah-- while successfully managing a full academic load-- for the past two years. The student is eager to find a better job; this evil scam preyed perfectly on the the students' very commendable aspirations.

This student is not naive, knows that scams exist and feels embarrassed and humiliated to have been scammed.

I am hoping some of us in the Ukiah community will come together to offer financial support for a local teen who has worked hard, done what we have asked, and whose only mistake was believing the words of an online predator.
