Help a Trans Man Attend Middlebury College

This gofundme will benefit Lee, a trans man in a red state, attend Middlebury College in Vermont. The college has contacted Lee after he expressed concern over his financial aid package and how he would not be able to pay it – they replied with "We cannot base our financial aid decisions based on a family's willingness to pay. We base our decisions on a family's ability to pay."
This is not fair to Lee, because he will be getting kicked out of his home once he turns 18 very soon –leaving him homeless – and all financial support will be cut off while his parents are still claiming him as a dependent. Lee is interested in attending Middlebury for its claim as a progressive college (as progressive a PWI can get) as an Asian trans man, the remainder that he has to pay for his tuition is ridiculous and it seems that the college is unwilling to change it or him, despite him expressing his inability to pay $30,000. Lee is legally bound to the college as he applied Early Decision under the assumption they will understand his unusual circumstances.
Lee comes from an unstable family and they are transphobic, homophobic, and full of bigoted ideas. It is unsafe for him to remain in his own household, and it is even more dangerous for him to find work to claim himself as an independent. Knowing this, the college still has not offered to offer a better financial aid reward.
Lee wanted to get a job too but his father refused to let him work, and ultimately never took him to any interviews or was willing to drive him to work or provide funding for transportation. Furthermore, his father was uncooperative in the college application/financial process to the point that required financial documents were provided months late – he only received assistance from distant family members. His mother is not present in his life.
