Help A Trans Girl Start Over

Icy (she/it) is an artist, a podcast producer, a poet, and a tabletop roleplayer. She is also a transgender woman living with schizoaffective disorder. Both of these things make life difficult during good times, but with the abuse rising against transgender people and the consistent stripping away of adequate medical care, it’s become increasingly dangerous to exist in a hostile area.
 
Icy’s current home is one such area. The state of West Virginia, particularly in her region, is an epicenter of hatred and fear. Unfortunately, that attitude extends into Icy’s home as well, as a member of its family is openly transphobic. This has made her living situation untenable and is forcing her to relocate.
 
Fortunately, Icy has found an absolutely wonderful opportunity to start over. Its partner and their family have welcomed it with open arms in their home in Oregon, letting her stay there and allowing it to be near her partner. There is no cost to finding a new house, to that first and last month’s rent, to a down payment. Social benefits are better in Oregon and the people are kinder and more accepting. It’s a chance to make a new home in a new place with a loving family.

That said, relocating across the country, more than 2,500 miles, is a huge expense. And that’s where you all come in. This money will go to helping Icy start over, to transporting her things, and, most importantly, to reuniting Icy and Scoundrel Queen, its precious cat.
