Help a Trans Girl in Egypt

Donation protected
Amira (not her real name) is a 21-year-old transgender Egyptian girl. She faces two problems that affect her plight for survival. The first problem is that she can't find a job in Egypt because employers immediately refuse her employment as soon as they find out that she is transgender. With no support for transgender rights from the state, nothing can be legally done to challenge this discrimination.

In fact, instead of being her protector, the Egyptian state is her second problem. Without being able to afford life-changing gender-affirming surgeries, Amira is treated as male. Most men in Egypt are required to take part in military service. If Amira cannot get gender-affirming surgeries, she will be forced into military service from July 2022. She will be forced to live in male barracks for up to three years.

Amira loves cooking Egyptian cuisine. Her dream is to start her own catering business. And you can help her achieve this dream. You won't just be supporting her, but you will be empowering her to take control of her own life.

For £2,000 Amira can get her gender-affirming surgeries and start her own business.

Please donate now. However small your donation is, it will be transformative to Amira's life.
