Hi! My name is Laura and I’m fundraising on behalf of a family currently living in Abilene, TX.

Due to fears of being targeted by authorities, they have asked me to create this fundraiser as I am out of the state’s jurisdiction, and the UK has robust privacy laws, at least for now!

 

T and F are in their 30s, and parents to a beautiful daughter, G.

 

G is 11, and started her gender discovery journey around age 7. She is one of the most beautiful, brave young women I have ever had the pleasure to meet. T and F are honestly, the parents I wish I could have had as a child. G has been raised in a house filled with love, acceptance, and one very grumpy but very cute cat. 

 

As you may know, Gov. Abbott has already passed TX House Bill 25 , and with the letter posted recently,  has made it clear Texas is not a safe place for trans children. (Or trans people at all). Simply by seeking medical care for their child, my wonderful friends now risk being labelled child abusers, or losing custody of her. I genuinely can't believe I'm typing these words in 2022. 

 

 

Due to the fact that both T and F are disabled, they require at least $20k in savings in order to secure housing without proof of income. They have already managed to gather $10k, this fundraiser is to help them with the other half. Funds will be spent on relocation costs, living expenses and medical care for G.  

 

Reaching this goal will allow this family the live in safety, and allow G to have a bright future where she can be herself, in a family of love.
