Help a Tanzanian School Purchase a New School Bus
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Jacob Willcox, and I am 21 years old.
On June 15th, I arrived in Arusha, Tanzania and will be volunteering here for two months at a school called SATINO. SATINO (Save and Teach the Innocent) is a school for children aged three to six that provides education to children of different backgrounds that would not otherwise have access to a safe and nurturing learning environment.
The SATINO school is divided into three programs: a music and art program, soccer academy, and education program. The education program provides early education for 150 children across two schools, and plans to construct a school supporting nearly 1000 children is in progress.
While fundraising for SATINO can help cover a variety of expenses, including teacher salaries and school construction costs, the current priority for SATINO is to purchase a new school bus. The current school bus (see pictures) is worse for wear and unreliable, meaning students are unable to attend school, or are forced to utilize other, less safe forms of transportation. Furthermore, the bus can only carry a handful of the 150 kids that attend SATINO.
Your time and consideration are greatly appreciated, and any donation, no matter how small, will go a long way in uplifting a Tanzanian school and empowering its students. Donations can unlock the potential of Arushan children and pave the way for a brighter future for them, their families, and their community. Any contribution will create lasting change and help break the cycle of poverty via education.
You can donate via the link below, and find out more about SATINO at https://www.satino.org. Cougar Lutze, my roommate here in Tanzania, and I will post updates on how fundraising money is used on our instagram accounts, which are linked below. The SATINO account is also linked below.
