For many of us, we can feel the end of the pandemic growing near and regular life just starting to emerge again. We have been fortunate enough to keep our jobs while working from home, and maybe even save a little more than usual.

For other families, the pandemic is far from over because of an inability to climb out from under a mountain of pandemic debt. I am hoping you can find it in your heart to help one of those families in our Sunnyside community. They have asked to remain anonymous, but I can tell you a bit about their situation. They are a BIPOC family with a single parent trying to get through this with their family. They are lucky enough to own a home, but have been unable to pay their mortgage for many months, as the mother has not been able to work and also take care of her child. They have managed to get assistance with utilities and other expenses, but there is little help available for mortgage payments.

What they need right now is the funds to catch up on their mortgage and give them a chance to recover their lives without fearing they will lose their home. An amount of $5000 will recover their unpaid mortgage payments and a little more would really help them move forward. We are matching the first $2000 donated.
