Help a Sudanese Student Continue His Education
Hi! I’m fundraising on behalf of a friend who has asked to remain anonymous. We connected while I was reporting on the war in Sudan, and over time I came to understand how deeply the conflict has disrupted his life and education.
He is a Sudanese student currently in Egypt, where he is trying to complete his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. His studies were interrupted for several years before the war, and when fighting broke out, and he was forced to flee Sudan entirely. Like so many others, displacement brought instability, financial strain, and uncertainty.
This semester, he was required to pay immigration-related university fees in order to remain enrolled. He managed to pay $800 at the beginning of the term, plus $300 for mandatory lab and equipment training. Despite those efforts, he still needs $1,100 to cover the remaining balance.
Because the full amount has not yet been paid, he has been banned from sitting for his final exam, putting his entire semester and degree at risk.
The goal is to raise the remaining funds as soon as possible so the fees can be paid and he can stay enrolled. Any amount helps deeply. If you’re able to contribute or share this fundraiser, you would be helping someone reclaim a future interrupted by war.
Thank you for your kindness and solidarity.
