Help a Sista Out - Take 2

Hi all! Firstly I'd like to say thank you to those who contributed to our first fundraiser for Tish. Your generosity provided some much-needed financial relief during a time when Tish was in hospital for a couple of months and required surgery to

repair a collapsed lung, among other things. So, thank you!

 

It is with a very heavy heart that I am once again going to ask all of you generous souls to Help our Sista Out. During Tish's last hospital stay, it was discovered that Tish has brain cancer. The real s*h*it kind.

 

Tish has been diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma. It is inoperable and believed to have tunneled through her brain from top to bottom. The pain is horrendous. Chemo and radiation don't have a great impact on these horrible tumors and Tish is unsure which treatment options she might go with. To be clear though, these tumors have no cure. 

 

As I write this Tish is back in the hospital, we don't know when she will be released. She was taken by ambulance because the headaches got so bad. She is in a lot of pain, it's hard for her to sleep and get the much-needed rest she requires, and the headaches have caused vomiting. The tumor has grown  in a matter of weeks.

This has all happened a lot faster than any of us ever anticipated. The aim now is to get Tish's pain under control and get her home where she can enjoy time with her family.

 

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure what your donations will go toward at this stage. Tish is unable to work, so there are everyday living expenses to think of. There has also been some convo's about finding a better medical team in Brisbane, your funds could help get Tish there. Or, with a bit of luck and what is my greatest hope, is that Tish will be released from hospital,  and her pain under control in such a way that she is able to travel.  I would love to see her take a dream trip with her kids to NZ. Something she has always wanted to do.

 

For those that know Tish, you know how amazing she is. For those that don't, please know that your donations are helping a beautiful woman. Dedicated friend, sister and Aunt. Fun, always up for a laugh and a good time, born to be the Nurse that she is and an amazing Mother who loves camping, 4wheeling and generally doing anything with her kids. You are helping ease a financial burden and fingers crossed bring some more fun times to this Mumma and her kids.

Hi Everyone, 

Thank you so much for your support, kind words and generous donations. 

Tish is keeping strong, is being super positive and trying to enjoy as much of life as she possibly  can right now. 

Since starting this GF Tish was released from hospital with an official prognosis of 3-6 months . In that time she has had some gorgeous family photos done, gone cruising in some old muscle cars and has been trying to organise some sort of family holiday.   

Unfortunately Tish had a fall of the weekend and is back in hospital. One of her legs is not playing the game as it should and its suspected the GBM has grown again.  We will know more with new MRI results. 

In the meantime we have decided to keep the GF going as we suspect Tish may need some equipment to help her get around and  feel comfortable. Her beautiful family are also trying to get some NDIS support - but for those who know the process know its not easy!
