Help a Single Mom Send Her Son to Creative Summer camp
Donation protected
Hi friends, family, and kind strangers —
I’m a single mama doing my best to raise my sweet son Roman while working two jobs to keep us going. With summer right around the corner, I’m trying to give him the chance to enjoy some amazing camp experiences — but I could really use a little help to make it happen.
There are two camps this summer that align perfectly with my work schedule and are close enough to make drop-offs and pickups realistic — which is huge for a working parent without extra support. Sadly, the Earthkeeper Camp that Roman loved last year filled up super fast, and the scholarship funds were gone in the first week of sign-ups.
The good news is:
✔️ I’ve been approved for 3 weeks at Camp Galileo
✔️ I can register for as many weeks/days as I need (based on availability) at Steve & Kate's Camp
Both camps generously offered scholarship discounts:
Steve & Kate's Camp – originally $650/week, reduced to $470/week
Camp Galileo – originally $430–$600/week, reduced to $285/week
Even with this support, covering multiple weeks of camp is still a real struggle — especially after Roman recently dislocated his elbow. He’s needed orthopedic and weekly physical therapy appointments, and I’ve already missed hours at work to take him. At this point, I can’t afford to miss any more time, or I won’t be able to cover our bills.
Without camp, Roman will be stuck either at my dental office all day or home alone playing video games — which he’ll already be doing enough of when he’s at his dad’s. He deserves more than that.
These camps would give him a real summer — one full of art, engineering, innovation, problem-solving, creativity, and friendship. He’ll get to grow, play, and build confidence in a safe, engaging environment.
I know things are tight for everyone right now, but even $1 truly helps. If I can get help toward covering even just one or two weeks, it would make a huge difference in both of our lives.
Thank you so much for reading, supporting, and helping Roman have a summer filled with joy, connection, and growth.
With love and gratitude,
Devon & Roman
