disabled single dad asking for help for daughter
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Rudy and I live at the shelter Hill apartments (section 8, low income housing), and I have a 17 year old daughter about to graduate Tamalpais High School. I'm reaching out to the community because of my financial situation. For over 20 years, I worked at Marin Joe's in Corte Madera as a waiter, until I suffered a work place injury that caused me to be unable to work, and be unemployed for several years now. I'm currently receiving SNAP benefits and I'm applying for disability, yet in this area and economy, it's still not enough to support me and my daughter with food, clothes, and the cost of living. And as soon as my daughter turns 18, I'll lose most of my SNAP benefits, even though I will still have to provide for her as she goes to college and stays at home. Anything at all would be appreciated as we're all struggling during these times. Thank you for taking the time to listen.
