Help a School Nurse Start Fresh

After over 20 years of marriage, of always being the primary income, I am at the crossroads no 56-year-old mom expected to be. I need to divorce my husband, but he is threatening me with his family resources, knowing that I have no family in the US, and that my family does not even come close to the resources he has at his fingertips. Thank you all for your kindness so far, I was able to pay the initial lawyer consult fee! Things have progressed badly in recent days and he is currently refusing to cosign for our daughter's passport renewal and is already accusing me of planning to "do a runner" with her. This is absolutely not true. She adores her high school and is thriving there, and I would never her tear her away from the country she has grown up in.

A new update. We are finally in the UK for a couple of weeks, I am trying to give my daughter the best time ever while we are here. Being with my family is a huge source of comfort for me. Sadly in the 10 days since we left the US he is now working to have me evicted from the house we rent. He works with our landlord, and is doing a great job of showing his “public” all around great guy face. I can’t do much of anything from here - no orders of protection to stop this - because I would have to appear in person.

Right before we left I paid household bills for July, and had to pay to get my brakes completely redone for the 2nd time in 18 months which was a massive financial hit. I am still a ways away from being able to pay the retainer, and am now dealing with the stress and anxiety of finding and paying for a new apartment.

Any further donations will go to my retainer with my lawyer, so we can get through this process and move on from the coercive control and verbal abuse.

i lost the update link again - so here is one! We have been back in the US for 24 hours and it took exactly that long before the yelling started. His latest? His lawyer has said he can open any mail addressed to me if he “thinks” it is financially related.
