My name is Sam and my family and I own and operate Burney Hardware. I had a gentleman who came in to the store recently who attempted to steal a flashlight. I confronted him and realized that he is homeless with his 8 month pregnant girlfriend. Background checks prove that their story checks out. There are no prior drug or alcohol charges or felonies for them.

Many of you have donated many things and these two young people seem so so grateful. I have personally been to their camp and can verify that there is a major need here and that these people are literally living with nothing but a tent and a few creature comforts like a bucket toilet, a small propane heater and sleeping bags. We appreciate all the clothing donations but these guys can’t take much of this with them when they have to move around.

He used to work for a Moore county electrical contractor but has since wrecked his car and has no way to get to work. There is nobody locally that they can turn to for any assistance and at the end of the day we just need to get them some warmth and a way to get their feet on the ground so they can have a fresh start.

They are currently living in the woods off Carthage Rd and we’re just told to move off the property they were on. Team Workz is trying to help me find resources especially for these upcoming cold nights. anything you are willing to give will help out majorly. Thank you!!

if you know of a place that they can rent that is affordable and local to the west end area, or a really cheap vehicle that will get them to the hospital for her pregnancy and their jobs just reach out to me direct.
