Help a single mother in Addis Ababa

My name is Danayit Desalegn. I, along with an Eritrean woman who frequently fundraises money for individuals in need, including refugees in Libya and individual cases globally are fundraising money on behalf of a 22 year old pregnant woman in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She wants her name to remain anonymous. She is a sister who needs our collective help in order to deliver her baby safely and provide for her child afterwards, until she gets on her own feet. The father of the child abandoned her as soon as he found out she was pregnant with his child. Her mother is unable to support her as she has heath complications herself and is unable to work. She does not have any relatives who can support her, she lives alone in a rented apartment. The stigmatization of women who get pregnant before marriage and/or without the presence of men during the process of pregnancy in Ethiopia forced her to isolate herself and endure the very painful experience of pregnancy alone. Because of COVID-19 and her pregnancy, she was not able to continue working at her previous job. She has been out of a job for a while now. She was also a 3rd year marketing student at a University, she had to drop out because of her pregnancy. She is currently very ill, she experiences burning and excruciating pain all over her body. I have been communicating with her on the phone and she is very grateful to know that there are people who care about her and her child's safety during and after delivery. Her doctor told her she will be due in 10 days (anytime before 10 days is also a possibility), she will have to deliver her baby through a C-Section surgery as she is unable to deliver naturally because of her high blood pressure. This gofundme was created to raise money for her long term support until her body recovers post-pregnancy and her baby grows a little older. The funds will be used to cover living expenses(rent,food, and other necessities) and child expenses(diapers, baby formula, baby bottles, nursing covers, bottle brushes, baby crib, and other necessities). In general, having a baby requires financial security. She does not have any financial security and everything in Ethiopia is very expensive. All the money that is donated will be transferred to her directly. Updates will be provided frequently on this page and there will be a 100% transparency on the transactions that will be made to her.
