Help a Newly Arrived Palestinian Refugee Family Avoid Eviction
It is very cold in Seattle.
My name is Kamran, and I am a community organizer and volunteer in Washington State. I’m reaching out on behalf of a Palestinian refugee family of four who arrived in the U.S. in January 2025 after fleeing unimaginable circumstances. They are rebuilding their lives from scratch in Everett, WA. They are navigating a new system and trying to provide stability for their family.
This family does not yet speak English, and communication barriers have made it even harder for them to access resources. Over the past few weeks, a local organization, the IWCC, has been helping them get settled and helping the father secure a part-time stocking job at Walmart, earning $15/hour. It’s honest, hard work, but it still isn’t enough for them to keep up as they start over. This weekend, our community got together to help fund groceries that I delivered.
The Urgent Need
They have fallen behind on October and November rent. Their landlord has given them a few days to pay or they will be evicted. Eviction at this stage would be devastating - not just financially, but emotionally for a family that has already endured displacement and trauma.
How the Funds Will Be Used
Every dollar raised will go directly to their rent. I will hand-deliver the funds to ensure the payment is made on time and transparently.
Why This Matters
This is an opportunity to help a real family in a real, tangible way — not through forwarded videos or online outrage, but through compassionate action that keeps a family safely housed. Your contribution gives them breathing room, dignity, and the chance to take their next steps — including connecting them with English-language classes so they can become independent.
Goal
We need to raise these funds within the next 3-5 days to prevent their eviction. If you are able, please give what you can. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign is equally powerful. Thank you for choosing compassion, for standing with a family starting over, and for helping keep a roof over their heads during their most vulnerable moment.
Every donation — big or small — truly makes a difference.
