Help a mother under attack keep her children safe

Donation protected
After over a year of forced separation since my children were illegally abducted from Spain to Peru by their father, my boys and I are finally back together – yet our situation remains extremely vulnerable. With no income, after draining all my savings and going into debt, I urgently need help to keep fighting over 20 simultaneous legal cases, protect my children and cover our basic needs.

The day everything changed
On July 24th 2024, our family’s life took an unimaginable turn. My husband left our home in Madrid to pick up our older son from school, taking the younger one with him.
They never returned home.
Hours passed with no answers. I finally went to the police terrified that something terrible had happened to them.

A mother’s worst fear – and any child’s worst nightmare
Without my knowledge or consent, my two little boys – just 2 and 4 years old – had been taken out of the country and flown to Peru. Two defenseless children were abruptly cut off from their mother, their routines, their security and everything familiar to them.

A year of uncertainty and pain
For 12 long months, while my boys were illegally separated from their mother, I faced a never ending, exhausting and heartbreaking legal battle far away from home, far from my family and friends, in a foreign country marked with many security and stability challenges.

Week after week, I went into courtrooms to challenge false allegations and fight against a premeditated and deliberate narrative designed to discredit me as a mother, backed up by the extensive resources of my children’s father and his family, in their home country, with the support of lawyers well-known for ethics breaches.

During this period, we faced:
  • Obstruction of communication and contact, making it impossible for us to see each other or interact freely, and at times leaving me unaware of their whereabouts for months at a time.
  • A growing emotional, psychological and financial burden. My boys have both been diagnosed with severe trauma as a result of our separation. I was forced to leave my job in Spain, have exhausted all my savings and have been forced to go into debt to continue to protect us.
  • Continued legal and media attacks against me, which have only worsened since I managed to secure care of the boys.

What kept me going was the hope that the truth would prevail, and that I would hold my children again – safe, free and back where they belong.

Reunited, but not yet safe – the aggression continues
When the appeals court finally granted me temporary care of my boys on June 9th 2025, the father once again disappeared with them. For another 48 days, there was no contact between us; the reunification ordered by the court was delayed, postponed and obstructed.

On July 31st 2025, we were finally reunited – after more than a full year of unlawful separation and systematic obstruction.

But the aggression did not stop. The father continues to open new legal cases against me and I am now facing more than 20 legal cases across Peru and Spain: family, civil, criminal, constitutional – all at once.

This overwhelming number of proceedings has created a level of emotional and financial strain that no mother can face alone, especially while caring full-time for children in emotional and psychological recovery.

Media attacks and constant fear
Not content with judicial harassment, the boys’ father and his family continue to attack me relentlessly in the media and social networks, repeating the same false accusations that have been rebutted by the courts. This smear campaign makes me feel increasingly fearful that the boys may be abducted again – or that my safety is at risk, giving the increasingly violent discourse on and off the courts, and the reality on the ground in terms of security and stability in Peru.

Full-time caregiver trapped in Peru
Today, I am the full-time caregiver of my young children, who require continuous emotional support and specialized therapy. We cannot return to Spain or leave Peru until the courts authorize it.

My savings are gone. I am in debt. I am alone in a foreign country. Yet the legal demands continue. I must keep defending my boys’ rights so that we are not separated again – on or off the courts.

How your support will be used:
Every contribution – no matter the amount – helps restore balance in a process where resources are deeply unequal.

Your support will ensure:
  • Legal defense in more than 20 active legal cases in Peru and Spain, to protect my children’s rights and keep them safe with their mother.
  • Specialized psychological care as we heal from prolonged separation from and everything we’ve experienced.
  • Basic living costs while we remain legally unable to return home.
  • Stability and safety during this vulnerable and stressful period.
  • Protection of my children’s fundamental rights to grow up safe, free from high-conflict environments.

From the bottom of my heart
Your support means more than words can express. There have been nights when I’ve felt alone, wondering how I could keep fighting with nothing left. I’m being as transparent as I can, even at the risk of facing increased judicial harassment simply for speaking up and defending myself.

Thank you for standing with me in this critical moment. Every contribution is hope.

With my deepest gratitude,
A mother who will never give up.
