My name is Marisol, and I’m a mother doing everything in my power to protect the safety, stability, and well-being of my son. I have been his main caregiver all his life.

Since November 2022, I’ve been enduring an incredibly tumultuous and drawn-out divorce. It has been anything but amicable—and now, I'm facing two critical court trials that will shape both mine and my son’s future. These trials are scheduled for June 18 and 20, 2025, and I urgently need your help to secure legal representation.

What Happened

In April 2024, my ex-husband and I reached a court-approved agreement that would have settled custody and separation of assets. All both parties had to do was uphold our ends of this agreement.

Since signing, my ex-husband continues to inflict emotional and financial abuse against me. He has violated court orders, ignored custody terms, failed to meet financial responsibilities and repeatedly postpones hearings to avoid addressing issues of his creation. Additionally, he has made and continues to make attempts to take custody of our son by alleging false accusations—none of which have been supported by any evidence.

The April 2024 agreement entailed:

I immediately began the refinance process. But just before closing, I was devastated to learn that he had stopped paying the mortgage for three months, breaking our agreement and deliberately sabotaging the process. Because the loan was no longer in good standing, the refinance fell through—and I was robbed of the chance to keep our home. My son lost the security and stability I had fought so hard to preserve.

My ex-husband now asserts that the mortgage clause in our agreement was a mere “typo” and instructed the attorney who originally drafted the agreement not to respond to my inquiries, which would have clarified this issue. Subsequently, with the assistance of new legal counsel who facilitated what I believe to be perjured statements regarding his understanding of our agreement, he petitioned the court to force the sale of the home—despite it not being in foreclosure—and to modify the original terms of our agreement without my consent. Despite clear evidence supporting me—including emails, legal documents, and witness testimony—the court ruled in his favor. I was unrepresented by counsel at the time and was not afforded a full opportunity to be heard, whereas his attorney was given the floor. As the current agreement no longer reflects the terms to which I originally consented, I intend to petition the court to have it set aside or declared unenforceable.

Where Things Stand Now

I’m now preparing for two major legal battles:

I have already spent over $50,000 in legal fees and simply cannot fight on my own anymore. Without an attorney, I fear my voice will continue to be silenced in court—and that my ex-husband will face no accountability for his repeated violations.
