My name is Ekram, a mother of five sons and one daughter from the Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, 2023, my family and I have lived through two years of displacement, fear, and loss. We survived bombings and hunger dozens of times. Our home was destroyed, and our entire neighborhood was reduced to rubble. We cannot go back — we lost our memories and everything we once had.

Despite the devastation, life has given us another chance to start again. Every day, we struggle to survive the harsh and inhumane conditions left by this terrible war.

We are trying to rent a small space where we can set up a tent to call home, where I can cook hot soup for the coming winter, and where my children can continue their education and dreams.

My older children hope to return to university, while Mahmoud is in middle school and Ammar in elementary school.

I am kindly asking for your support to help us rebuild our lives.

منذ 7 أكتوبر 2023، عاشت عائلتي وأنا عامين من النزوح والخوف والفقدان.

نجونا من القصف والجوع عشرات المرات. دُمّر منزلنا بالكامل، وسُويت منطقتنا بالأرض. لا يمكننا العودة، فقد فقدنا ذكرياتنا وكل ما كنا نملكه.

ورغم هذا الدمار، منحتنا الحياة فرصة أخرى لنبدأ من جديد.

كل يوم نحاول النجاة من الظروف القاسية وغير الإنسانية التي خلّفتها هذه الحرب المروّعة.

نحاول استئجار مكان صغير نضع فيه خيمة نسميها بيتًا، أعدّ فيه حساءً ساخنًا لشتاء قادم، ويتمكن أطفالي من مواصلة تعليمهم وأحلامهم.

أبنائي الكبار يأملون العودة إلى الجامعة، بينما محمود في المرحلة الإعدادية وعمّار في الابتدائية.
