Help a Missionary Family Remain in England

Donation protected
We are a Brazilian missionary family who has been living and serving in the United Kingdom for almost three years. During this time, we have spent our lives joyfully for this nation, not only by giving, but also by learning and growing alongside our English-speaking brothers and sisters.

What moves us to stay in the UK is not comfort, status, or opportunity, but the deep conviction that we still have much to do and to learn for the sake of this nation. As a family, we have made the decision to spend our lives in service to the Kingdom of God, now through this nation and for this nation.

Throughout these years, the Lord in His grace and mercy, has shaken our traditions, renewed our hearts, and shown us that the language of worship and love transcends every barrier of language and culture. We are fully convinced that we are on this path because we are all heading toward the same destination: Christ.

In the midst of this journey, our two sons Carlos (15) and Kaleb (13), have become deeply rooted in the British school system. Carlos is about to enter Year 11, fully engaged in the GCSE exam process, and Kaleb is finishing Year 8, moving into Year 9. To remove them from school at this critical stage would be deeply disruptive, both emotionally and academically.

We are now facing a delicate moment. Our current visa is about to expire, and we were taken by surprise with the UK’s new immigration rules, which directly impacted the route we planned to use, a visa category focused on care for vulnerable individuals. That route has now been closed, and the recent government restrictions have made it impossible for us to apply through it.

Because of this, the only tangible route left for us now is the Religious Worker visa. Our sponsor is fully willing to issue a new Certificate of Sponsorship for our family, but the cost of the new visa application, especially with the mandatory NHS surcharge, exceeds £10,000, reaching around £15,000 when including round-trip flights, as we are required to return to Brazil to apply.

So, we come to you, dear friends, churches, brothers and sisters in Christ, to share this moment we’re living through. If you can walk with us during this time, every contribution, no matter how small, will be a direct investment in our mission and ministry here in the United Kingdom.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers, encouragement, and generosity in this decisive moment for our family.

May the Lord bless you abundantly, in the name of Jesus!

With love and gratitude,
The Passos Family
