Hello!

My name is Sarah. I’m a Children’s Librarian from Minneapolis! I’m fundraising on behalf of one of my best friends and her beautiful family. Their immediate and extended family have been living in fear because of ICE’s presence in our communities.

To protect their privacy I will be using their first initials only.

As a librarian, I gotta say, every story is important! Here is theirs:

K met O in 2010 at a dance club and quickly fell in love and got married. They were separated for six long years, K in Minnesota and O in Mexico, while they waited for O’s visa to be approved. During that time, they welcomed the first of five children (a beautiful little girl) named N (now 11). Finally, their little family was reunited in Minnesota in 2016! Since then, they’ve welcomed four more to their family: their first son G (7), their middle daughter X (4), and most recently, their darling 9-month-old twin boys, D and D! K&O’s children adore each other. They love making art, acting in school plays, and playing with friends and cousins. K is one of the hardest working stay-at-home-moms around. O is the sole financial provider for their family. Because of ICE’s threatening presence and violence in our communities, O no longer feels safe going to work.

What I’m asking is for financial support to help this wonderful family. The money will go directly to K&O’s immediate and extended family to pay for not just rent, groceries, formula and diapers, but also for peace of mind!

I’ve listed my husband , Jordan Hill, as beneficiary. Jordan is a good friend of K&O’s as well. Our plan is to transfer funds to our account (which is under Jordan’s name) and then transfer funds from our account to K&O’s. You can read our most recent updates to better understand the complications we’ve been facing trying to get everyone’s help into the hands of our friends… but we are MAKING IT HAPPEN!
