Help a military family navigate a tragic loss
Donation protected
On October 4th, after battling COVID-19 for over 6 weeks, Maria Sallerson-Joyner’s time on earth ended. Maria was a devoted wife and mother of 4 (sons ages 6 & 15 and daughters ages 10 & 12). She was a genuinely kind and thoughtful person whose smile lit up any room she entered. She was a military spouse and a stay at home Mom who rarely stayed at home, but rather was always involved in her children’s schools and education. This family’s devastating loss is being compounded by mounting financial uncertainty around medical bills and the children’s future education.
Due to the cruelty of COVID-19 Maria entered the hospital not knowing that she would never see her children again. She spent her 38th birthday being placed on a ventilator. During her fight, she received several costly but life saving procedures, allowing her to live through her daughter’s and her husband’s birthdays, but it still wasn’t enough. Her battle ended just shy of her 16th wedding anniversary. As the family is just beginning to grieve, the medical bills not covered by insurance have begun to pour in, adding stress to this unimaginable tragedy.
Any help you can provide allows this family to focus on what really matters; mourning the loss of a wife, a mother, and an incredible person.
