Hi,

Our names are Molly and Terri and we are fundraising for our friend and colleague, Ernest, whom we have known for many years. Ernest is an extremely hard-working, kind, and thoughtful man who has recently been dealt a bad hand.

When we met Ernest he was working two jobs in New York City, one as a school cafeteria worker during the day and the other as a school custodian after school hours. He does not drive but would ride his bike to and from work in almost every kind of weather. Our school community found Ernest to be unfailingly helpful and polite. He worked tirelessly day in and day out and then lost everything.

Ernest went from being an employed 65-year-old man with medical benefits to being a homeless person with no income, no job, and no benefits. He is currently calling the subway or a park bench home. Ernest would do anything for others, but at this time he needs US. We want nothing more than to help Ernest land back on his feet and appreciate any donations no matter how big or small. We hope to use the funds to rent a room to give our friend a place to take a shower and rest his head at night. Nothing fancy, nothing unreasonable.
