Hi, my name is Tony, and I'm reaching out for help for my son, Liam.
For Liam’s 21st birthday, I put everything I had into buying him a reliable car—something to give him independence and security. It nearly broke me financially, but I wanted to do something special for him. Then, about eight months ago, through no fault of his own, Liam was in an accident on the freeway, and his car was written off.
With limited time and funds, we did our best to find a replacement. Using the insurance payout and whatever I could scrape together, we bought what seemed to be a solid little car. But since then, it’s been one problem after another—first the turbo, then an emissions issue, and now his clutch has completely failed.
Not only has this drained what little money he had, but it’s also affecting his ability to work. He’s had to give up shifts because he simply can’t get there without a car. As a dad, it’s heartbreaking to see him struggle, especially knowing that right now, I’m not in a position to help the way I wish I could. The last year has been tough—my mortgage has doubled, the cost of living keeps rising, and unexpected financial setbacks have made things even harder.
I don’t like asking for help, but I can’t stand watching Liam struggle alone. If you’re able to contribute—whether it’s a little or a lot—it would mean the world to us. Every bit will help him get his car back on the road and regain some normalcy in his life.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading and for any support you can give.
