
Help a Hero, Save a Restaurant

Those of us with relatives on the front lines at hospitals know all too well the tremendous bravery and sacrifice that they exhibit by taking care of the serious ill and infected. We also know that many of our friends and fellow foodies fear the permanent closing of Madison's restaurant scene. So we coordinated with Madison Area Chef's Network and SSM St. Mary's Hospital to provide delicious meals to our front line heroes for as long as donations will allow. Each week day a different chef (e.g. Tory Miller from L'Etoile, Dan Bonanno from Pig in Fur Coat, Dave Heide at Liliana, etc.) will provide 100 warm meals to the front line staff of St. Marys Hospital covering both day and night shifts. There are many great efforts, which we applaud, getting snacks and subs to these heroes. This tries to up the game while helping our local restauranteurs to stay in business. Imagine the ICU nurse who goes home after a 12 hour shift, but must stay in the garage or basement to protect her family. Please show you care for him/her by sending them home with a great meal.
