“Help a Healing Mom Attend Her Daughter’s Graduation & Suppo

Donation protected
Hi, and thank you for taking a moment to read this.

I’m a Canadian mom of four. My eldest is a self-sufficient adult, and I’m incredibly proud of each of my children. Life hasn’t been easy — I live with CPTSD after surviving years of abuse in my youth — but I’ve been sober for over three years now, and every day I continue to grow into the mother I’ve always wanted to be.

Because of the severity of my CPTSD, some of my daily struggles include IBS and other digestive issues, muscular and skeletal injuries which therapies i am unable to access, flashbacks, highly sensitive and often jump to the slightest of movements or sound, unpredictable PTSD “episodes” and though I have sought therapies and different ways of healing since 2008, recently completing 2.5 years of weekly therapy, I am still currently unable to hold employment, and, I continue my journey of healing
I spend my days in service, helping young moms and in their recovery process — offering them the kind of support I once needed. It means the world to me to help create a path where their children don’t have to go through the same struggles mine endured. This is part of how I heal, too — by giving what I can, where I can.

Right now, I’m hoping to raise enough to:
• Travel with my son to attend my youngest daughter’s high school graduation in another town (and cover basic accommodations)
• Take my other daughter summer shopping before she heads to her father’s for the rest of the spring and summer, after completing her first year of college

Both of these things are deeply important to me. But I don’t drive, I have no family support, and I’m not in a financial position right now to make them happen on my own.

Asking for help is uncomfortable — especially after experiencing financial abuse in the past — but I’ve learned that healing includes being honest about what I need. If you’re able to help in any way, whether through a donation or by sharing this with someone who might, I would be deeply grateful. Your kindness helps me show up for my children in ways I never thought possible.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for believing in people who are still healing.

With love and deep gratitude,— a mom in healing
