My name is Bethany — mother to a family of six — and I am advocating on behalf of my husband, Isaac, and the welfare of my family.
As loving parents, Isaac and I are doing all we can to provide the best life for our children.
My husband runs a small business, taking on repair work, design projects, handyman jobs and anything he can to support our household. He is a very hard worker and generous to a fault, always caring more about his customers satisfaction than his own gain, even if it means taking a loss.
We have never been ones to ask for help, but today we are facing a situation we cannot handle alone.
The situation began back in 2022 when a local business owner attempted to coerce my husband into an unfair barter. This man tried to rush into performing work on our property, even after my husband had clearly told him that he could not agree to any proposed barter at that time. But despite my husband’s expressed disclaimer, the man proceeded unilaterally, without a finalized agreement, and after my husband explicitly said he was not ready to commit.
What followed then was months of confusion, pressure, and shifting expectations as we came to find out just how unscrupulous this man was.
Even so, my husband went out of his way to offer fair and ethical resolution, including monetary payment of what was originally quoted for the work. But every offer was rejected, and the harassment and demands continued for years after. Not only that, but over time the "payment" being demanded kept increasing as well.
Despite all of my husband's attempts at a peacable resolution, we were summoned to court in Spring of 2025, facing a possible financial judgment that could seriously harm our family’s welfare.
My husband has carried the full weight of this lawsuit over the past year, working tirelessly to navigate the complex and confusing legal system without any support or help; but he has reached the end of what he can do alone. We have witnessed firsthand that success in court does not come down to who is "right" or "wrong", but that technicalities and procedure take precedence over all else.
As the trial date is fast approaching, we are now in desperate need of legal help to successfully defend ourselves.
We are asking for support to help us cover attorney fees and court costs as we seek to protect our family from a wrongful judgement, with consequences that would impact our children and our future in ways we cannot afford.
