As most of you know, my wife and I are expecting our first child together at the end of January. While this should be an exciting time in our lives, as of Wednesday of this week, my wife's employers of the past 4 years decided, out of the blue and with absolutely no warning, to sell her department, leaving her unemployed, effective immediately. With bills already piling up, and appointments scheduled through the remainder of this pregnancy, we are left scrambling, trying to figure out how to maneuver this situation and how we are going to continue to support our growing family. Our biggest concern is finding my wife another job, but the prospect of finding an empathetic, open-minded employer willing to hire a pregnant woman for 4 months and then turn around and grant 3 months of maternity leave is daunting. We are applying for everything we can, but are honestly struggling. If anyone knows of anyone willing to hire under these circumstances, we would greatly appreciate a good word and a nod in the right direction. Additionally, if anyone is willing or able to spare anything in the meantime, while we hate asking for handouts, we understand that, until my wife is able to find employment, we will not be able to afford our mortgage and remain in our home without some form of additional help. We are asking anyone who can to please share or donate what you can spare in order to help us through this uncertain time. We appreciate all of you and hope that life is treating you well <3
