My father, William, was wrongfully convicted of a crime that he did not commit. He is currently sitting in prison awaiting his sentencing, possibly facing a lifetime in prison despite the lack of direct evidence or strong circumstantial evidence. On behalf of my family, we are turning to the community for support to help my father, an innocent man, seek the justice that he rightfully deserves.
My father is a quiet, kind-hearted, family-orientated man and always wanted to help people in any way he could. He immigrated to the U.S. from China at a very young age and stepped up to watch over his 4 sisters and mother. He works 7 days a week, 12 hour days as a mechanic, in order to provide for his family and give us everything that we need. My 2 siblings and I heavily rely on him as he is our only parent due to the recent death of our mother. Our mother passed away last year in March 2021 after a difficult and painful battle against cancer. This hit all of us very hard, especially my father who had to stay strong for his children, even though he had just lost his wife of 25+ years. Every day, after a long and tiring day at work, he would come home and instantly begin taking care of our mother and addressing her every need. Most of our financial income went towards her chemotherapy and radiation treatment, hospital bills, and hospice care in order to make the rest of the time she had left with us comfortable for her.
With no parents left at home to take care of us, we are struggling financially as I am attending a 4 year university in the fall, and my older sister has now taken on the parental role to keep the family afloat. We are barely getting by.
Currently, we are actively seeking a new law firm to represent our father and his fight for justice. We understand that this process may be a difficult battle and financially draining. Therefore, we are turning to our community for support. We are grateful for any form of help and assistance in the fight for justice to bring our father back home.
