I am a 41-year-old father of 2 with a step son and we live in Highlands Ranch, CO.
I have a amazing 8-year-old daughter. Her mother divorced me in 2019, and I have been fighting for custody off and on for 6 years.
As of this year, I've humbly been seeking time with my daughter, and on November 23rd, I finally got permission to spend a day with her.
During the exchange, her mother brutally attacked and assaulted me in front of our daughter. The attack was so severe that she ruptured my left eye. My eye sustained an injury so severe my retina was fully detached, my lens was knocked out completely, and my cornea was detached. Brain tissue was damaged as well.
I underwent an immediate Open Globe Trauma Surgery and Cornea reattachment on Nov. 24th.
Unfortunately, the trauma and damage have left me completely blind in my left eye.
This assault and attack have devastated my daughter, our family, and more so myself.
I was a former collegiate tennis player and teaching professional who spent 14 years dedicating my life to coaching and helping others.
Now I face a future of uncertainty from financial hardships, medical bills, and attorney fees as we fight to save our daughter, help her and me get treatment from this horrific attack and events.
I'm asking for help and assistance from anyone I've helped in my life. Any friend, family, loved one, tennis player, or family I've touched. Anyone who has a similar experience or injury. Or any generous-hearted person who would like to help us through the holidays and our futures.
Losing an eye due to fighting for your daughter and her custody is not acceptable.
Help myself, my daughter, and family get the support, treatment, and funds to get our lives back.
Help me get the medical treatments to reduce pain and constant suffering from this violent assault.
Your support means so much, and if you get anything out of my story, it's that violence is not acceptable! Violence is wrong and stand up against it.
Please pass this onto anyone, any organization, cause or avenue that wants to support and stand with us.
