Dear Friends,

We are writing this with heavy hearts to share close friends of ours Abel and Chrissy Sogaw have experienced a terrible tragedy. On Wednesday night on October 28, 2026, in their home at Union Springs, NY, suffered a serious and devasting house fire. Thank God, they got out alive and were not harmed, along with their two children and their five nieces and nephews, which they are raising. The house is a total loss. Sadly, they lost absolutely everything.

Unfortunately, the neighbors in their adjoining apartment were fatally impacted by the fire and the wife of the couple did not survive. They were dear friends to the Sogaw family so they are grieving the loss of their neighbor as well.

This has left this beautiful family without a home and in great financial need. Their greatest needs are funding for a place to live, furniture, replacing clothing, and life’s necessities.

Any help truly matters. Even a small donation can make a huge difference to this precious family. The Sogaws’ have always had a caring spirit and been a helping hand in their community to neighbors and anyone in need. They have even taken their five nieces and nephews in as their own children, providing a home of love and support for each one of them. Now more than ever they need our support as they navigate life after losing their home.
