Katrina and Walter's family are facing a separation that no family should have to go through. Walter was deported to El Salvador and since then Katrina has been holding things down for their family on her own. Not to mention, her oldest daughter is also picking up gigs to help Katrina make ends meet. It hasn't been easy — the kids miss their dad a lot, and that absence is felt every day.
Even with all of this, Katrina shows up for her community in incredible ways. I met her at a local fundraising event, where she put together a gorgeous balloon arch that made the whole space feel special. Her warmth, love for her family, and work ethic stand out even during a hard chapter for her family.
This fundraiser is to help Katrina and her kids travel to see Walter in El Salvador. The funds will go toward passports, flights, a place to stay, and food while they're there. It's not a permanent fix, but it's a real chance for them to be together again, even if just for a visit — and that means everything.
If you're able to contribute, your support would mean so much to this family. It would help bring some joy and connection back for the kids, and give them a memory with their dad that they'll carry with them. Every bit helps get them closer to that reunion.
